Mait Energy has developed a line of direct drive electric generators from 1MW to 3MW with permanent magnets that can be mounted on wind turbines produced by Mait Energy or supplied separately. These are three-phase synchronous generators with direct multi-pole drive and permanent magnet rotor (PMSG).
This specific technology offers many advantages.
The absence of a speed multiplier allows to avoid about 5% of losses due to this component, also the greater mechanical simplicity of this generator allows a longer life of it together with almost no maintenance. The PMSG multi-pole machine is the most efficient of all electrical machines as it does not need an external excitation from the grid.
